Microsoft Compatibility

I finally upgraded my Exchange Server 2000 (EX2K) to Exchange Server 2003 (EX2K3) last week. I use Exchange for my personal e-mail as a means to at least try to keep informed. It is, of course, massive overkill for a personal e-mail server but then, who doesn't love massive overkill? During the upgrade I, of course, encountered a few issues.

Some background: I was upgrading my servers from 2000 to 2003 at the same time. Since EX2K is not supported on Windows Server 2003, you cannot upgrade the server first. You need to be at W2KSP3 at a minimum to do the in-place upgrade. If you are not at SP3 yet, take a look at the date this article was written, the date SP4(!) was released and either have a valid business reason to be at a pre-SP3 state, or find another career. Anyway, a fairly decent explanation from Microsoft (!!!) can be had by clicking here. All the prerequisites are covered pretty well here.
